NORWAY IN ATHENS FEST

Norway In Athens Fest is arranged for the first time in Greece the weekend 20-22 april 2007.

A lot of Norwegian bands are doing well in Greece, selling a lot of music and doing great gigs, so now this festival focusing at Norwegian bands is being arranged. MAIKA will be in Athens with fellow norwegian bands Apoptygma Berzerk and Magenta, as well as the local band Kain.

The festival is arranged by the Greece company MM2 Music Entertainment, and the main venue for the festival is the legendary Fuzz Club (ex Club 22), wich has been one of the most important rock-scenes in Athens for several years with both national and international stars.

We are currently in studio, working with our upcoming album, and see this as a great opportunity to promote the album for the Greece audience.

MAIKA and Apoptygma Berzerk will have their shows at Saturday 21 of April, and Apoptygma Berzerk and Magenta will play at Sunday 22 of April.

WE ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO MEET THE GREECE AUDIENCE.

SEE YOU IN ATHENS!

HEADLINING NORWEGIAN INDIE FESTIVAL

MAIKA will be one of the headliners of the new Norwegian Indie Festival.

The festival is arranged by Boheme Entertainment in cooperation with Musiq and Effektor, and will present 12 of the hottest Norwegian Indie-bands.

The Festival is held thursday May 31 to saturday June 02 at Skuret, an intimate venue in the center of Oslo (the capitol of Norway) known for presenting upcoming Norwegian acts and independent artists.

We are proud to participate in presenting this brand new festival for independent artists, and we hope this can be a new "marketplace" for the growing Norwegian indie-scene.

From www.musikkfest.no (translated into English):

"25 venues and 12 hours of music in downtown of Oslo. First saturday of June is an important day for everybody with an interest in muic. Every year at this day the downtown of Oslo is transformed when hundreds of musicians are entering the streets, squares and parks to offer a free musicfest.

Musikkfest Oslo has since the start in 1992 grown to be enormous popular among as well the musicians as the citizens of the city. MFO is with no doubt the largest one-day festival, and a kind of National Day for music. In cooperation with a lot of local venues we are organizing stages at 25 different places in the downtown of Oslo. All musicians are playing for free, and all concerts are free of charge for the audience. As a listener you will find something interesting no matter what your musical preferrences are. MAIKA IN STUDIO

ONE STEP FURTHER...

From December 04 MAIKA will be in studio recording our upcoming single. As producer we're lucky to have Alex Moklebust, a well known and long time respected producer and musician. He has formerly been the singer in Seigmen and Zeromancer, he has produced several of Seigmen and Zeromancer's albums, as well as the debutalbum (and most of their singles and EP's) of the Norwegian Folk/metal band Gaate, the powerpop-band Delaware and the electro-pop/rock band Don Juan Dracula. Just to mention some...

Further on, the plans are to record a full album in early spring 2007, if our cooperation with Alex Moklebust turns out well. We are all looking forward to finally taking the step from demo-recordings and preproductions to high-quality recording. Our main ambition is of course to make our music available to as many of you people as possible. Because you're worth it ;-)

MAIKA proudly announces that we've got the honour to do a warm-up gig for the Swedish band The Sounds at their gig in Oslo, Norway the 31.of August. The gig will be at John Dee (Hammerborgsgt. next to Rockefeller) and starts at 20.00. Tickets can be ordered at http://www.ticketmaster.no/ and the cost is NOK 160,-.

"We look forward to be at the same venue as this insane live-band" says Aria, vocalist in MAIKA. She beleives that Maika's "whisperhysterical rock" will be a good start at the evening for the The Sounds-fans. The Sounds have just released their new album "Dying To Say This To You". The Sounds' music can be described as synth-pop, and their idols and inspiration are Surferosa. The band, with the Debbie Harry-like vocalist Maja Ivarsson, achieved great success with their last album "Living In America".
